Why You Must Consider an Easter-themed Advertising Campaign
How can Easter benefit your high street business’s advertising? How can hand-painted window art play a part? Why does the Easter Bunny bring eggs anyway?
Easter Advertising – The Easter Bunny, Chocolate Eggs, and Jesus Christ
Chocolate eggs wrapped in foil and bunnies with wicker baskets. We are all familiar with this international holiday that commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It’s a Christian festival that is somehow associated with cute images of Easter eggs, the Easter bunny, and children hunting for chocolate.
But why do we have this image of the Easter Bunny in our minds when we think of Easter? Historically, both eggs and rabbits are symbols for fertility, life, and rebirth, with specific ties to springtime celebration. With links back to an ancient pagan tradition, rabbit and egg thus become linked. The connection of these symbols with Jesus’s resurrection after his crucifixion seems somewhat natural when we consider this thematic parallel of life and renewal.
The April celebration
Easter is perfect for instantly recognisable artistic representation thanks to the vibrancy of nature settings intermixed with colourful eggs. Cotton tailed creatures and woven, festive baskets are perfect for use in advertising campaigns for this reason, the viewer is immediately engaged with a visual language that is striking, recognisable, and comforting. We all have fond feelings and cherished memories surrounding Easter Sunday. By embracing this combination of nostalgia and the enduring, wholesome sentiment towards Easter iconography, we can create artworks that grab people’s attention and lodge in their memories with an invariably positive association. In turn, the general love for this time of year relates to the public perception of your business. Christmas is, of course, king when it comes to a holiday that drives business, but Easter is also a valuable cultural touchpoint to utilise in your next advertising campaign.

Easter Art in Practice – A Case Study of Ours
We are proud to show a project of our that we created for Coopers Residential. This is an Easter installation that took advantage of all the concepts we have described and was a subsequent hit with the local people. The natural spring and Easter-time images were a cogent part of the wider Easter campaign whilst simultaneously maintaining their individuality.
As the centrepiece of this project, we encouraged community engagement with both the business and the art itself. Children could participate in the artwork by entering the premises and making their faces that of the Easter Bunny’s. Many pictures were taken with children happily posing as our hand-painted creature who held the branded sales board for Coopers residential. This high street window installation and approach were effective as advertising as well as serving to contribute to social value of the local surroundings & community. You can cultivate a fun, welcoming brand image and contribute to your high street culture at the same time.
